KA adopted one of Illaiyaraaja's composition as "Neele Neele Ambar Pe", I have heard that song long back, its by SPB, I want the details of the song, year, film name and record format and label

Only the first line. the incredible guitar piece (that's the signature of this song) is not there in Illaiyaraja's song-- that's entirely Kalyanji-Anandji!
It was a tamil song Ilaya Nila Pozhigirathu from Payanangal Mudivathilai (1982) One version of the story is that Kalyanji Anandji liked Ilaya Nila so much that they asked him for the song to use in Hindi (as Neele Neele Ambar in the movie Kalakaar) and in return Ilayaraja received the tune for Kanavu Kanum vazhkai aagum (movie: Neengal Kettavai) which they had used as Kasme Vaade ( movie: Upkaar). As you may also be aware, during recording sessions of this song, Kalyanji Bhai became very sick. The bros fell upon their one time assistant Pyarelal under whose arrangement "neele neele....." was recorded. Happy Holi Vijushah |
