Arnab,
all the songs are classics in my opinion. Each one has a very distinct Hindustani semi-classical base...marvellous singing by Lata and Mohd Aziz, orchestration totally compliments the moods.

Personally I love Ek Andhera Lakh Sitare... --> magnificent!!!! very very melodious....every time I listen to it I remember our beloved Mohd Rafi Sahab !!!! Oh!!! HE could have brought totally different feelings...alaas!!!

Yes, Arnab, you said it. The song superbly brings out the spirit of the two couples on whom it is picturized. Actually, I was not that impressed with the Lata solo in HBA. "soona soona" is a let down, especially coming from Rajesh Roshan. I had expected it to be something like Lata's solos in Swami, Ek Hi Raasta, Tumhari Kassam, and Man pasand, but it turned out to be a disappointment. The starting note itself is not catchy.

However, "hum tum rahenge akele wahan" is a stunner. Fantastic song. And Amit Kumar gives it all he has: soulful singing. Makes you think whether RR deliberately chose Amit over Kishore for this song, when the other gem "prem ki hai kya" was so perfectly rendered by the latter.

I also found "kachcha jamun" a bit weak, as I had high expectations from RR.

I dont know how song "Soone Sham Savere" from Khel (1992) is still un-mentioned.. it is one of the finest compositions from 90s.. rendered beautifully by dear Amit da.. i guess lovers of 90s music may have missed out this brilliant composition !! as Mr Sanu was a leading singer those days (IMG:style_emoticons/OurHFMEmot/tongue.gif)

Very True Rishi.. This for me is amongst the finest compositions of HF Songs. The use of overlaping voice in different scale is just great.. Also the Picturisation of this song is very well done by Basu Chatterjee..

I really wonder why the same Rajesh Roshan cannot come up with anything remotely similar to these Gems now with much advanced Technological Gadgets of the Present Era.

Off course such a nice and romantic song. It's sweet in melody and rich in orchestration. Excellent!!!! RR possibly was inspired by Pancham and opted the style of voice layover and rhythm. Rhythm treatment was also quite different from other songs at that time in 1977, fantastic tabla and use of madaal.

All of the songs are wonderful. Apart from this one my pasand = "Main Jo Bolu Haan To Haan Main Jo Bolu Naa To Naa"; "Koi Roko Na Diwane Ko" and Lata's evergreen "Tere Bin Kaise Din Beete Sajana" - Overall a very good album to keep.
