Dear OurHFM family, it's my pleasure to announce that I shall be sharing all the songs from the film Dastaan in this thread in the coming days.
Lakshmi didi, this is a special appeal to you not to upload them ( I know you probably have the whole album ) (IMG:style_emoticons/OurHFMEmot/tongue.gif) You're a tough act to follow, but let me try my best. (IMG:style_emoticons/OurHFMEmot/Bow.gif) So starting with the first song: Aye Shama Tu Bata Film: Dastaan Music: Naushad Singer: Suraiya |

Aayinah,
I will never let down my little sister. I don't want to steal your thunder. Also, I don't have the full album. Lakshmi |

I do not know why but I find Suraiya' voice and style of singing so very much appealing. She is one of my favorites.

Binodji, that's nice to know although I have to confess that I am not too fond of her voice( It sounds a little peevish at times! (IMG:style_emoticons/OurHFMEmot/mellow.gif) ), but I love some of her songs especially the ones from Mirza Ghalib, Shama, Dillagi, and Rustam Sohrab. The next song is for all the avid Suraiya fans in our family, Binodji I am hoping it's not already there in your collection. Indy, is there anything at all in this world that could escape your attention? Or 'scrutiny' rather! (IMG:style_emoticons/OurHFMEmot/tongue.gif)

It is quite inexplicable, Aayinah, why I like Suraiya's voice. So any effort at analysis would just be futile. To me it seems to be just like simple fatal attraction for the girl next door when everyone else calls her a plain Jane. Lata's melodies are like nectar to my ears. However, she is an impeccably pristine institution that is quite unapproachable. For me Suraiya represents a real person with all flaws that find their way to my heart. Binod. |
